Between Storyscope’s founding partners we have developed, produced, commissioned and distributed hundreds of hours of non-fiction content on broadcast, theatrical and SVOD platforms, including Al Jazeera, ARTE, VPRO, MTV, Sundance Channel, BBC, PBS, ZDF, NHK, CGTN, FX, National Geographic Channel and Fox Channels. Recent non-fiction films include Whispering Truth to Power (2018), Ga Da Lomba (2019), Influence (2020), I’Mary (2021), The Ghosts of Gadaffi (2021), and a series of films for BBC's "Her Story" series profiling extraordinary African Woman (2021).
Storyscope is very excited to announce the launch of its five-part Netflix docu-series on the murder of South African Soccer Legend, Senzo Meyiwa. Directed by Sara Blecer, SENZO: Murder of a Soccer Star premiered on Netflix on 7 April 2022. The thrilling five-part true crime documentary series delves into the beloved soccer star’s murder, sharing insight into what transpired that fateful night when Meyiwa was gunned down in what was alleged to be a botched robbery in 2014.
Storyscope is a recipient of the NFVF's slate funding programme for documentary. In partnership with the NFVF and the SABC we currently in development on a series of films putting females voices front and centre of the narrative, on both sides of the camera.
